The potential to use technology to support social connectedness is a subject which has gained a lot of attention recently. In order to look at the current knowledge base and provide some straightforward guidance the TEC Programme’s International Engagement Team funded this research. The T&SCon project, led by Dr Louise McCabe and a team from the University of Stirling, has now concluded. The project explored the potential of technology to support social connectedness for adults living in Scotland. As well as featuring in Scottish and international events on this subject the project has produced a final project Flyer and Guidance for organisations and individuals looking to use technology in this way. The Flyer and the Guidance are now available to read and to use. The guidance has three main parts: a ‘how to’ guide focusing on who, what, why and how a service or project might be set up; a series of three case studies; and access to the evidence that underpins this work.
On 31 January 2020 at 11.00 (GMT) the Stirling University team will be delivering a webinar to discuss the project.
