Final Report: Telecare for People with Dementia:
Evaluation of Renfrewshire Project
Analogue to Digital Telecare
Digital Telecare has been exploring the scope of benefits of switching the current telecare provision across Scotland from an analogue based system via traditional telephony connections to a digital service.
The Digital Office for Scottish Local Government has been leading this work with the Scottish Government’s Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Programme and in collaboration with COSLA.

The Falls Integrated Response & Support Technology Project
What FIRST aims to accomplish
The aim of the FIRST project is to improve the experience & outcomes for people living with frailty who fall, are uninjured, & require immediate assistance from services to get up from the floor or ground.
FIRST focuses specifically on providing a response & support for people who do not need an ambulance response (i.e. no immediate clinical need) & have not subscribed to a community alarm response service. This was identified as an area requiring urgent attention in the 2015 Report of the Independent Review of Primary Care Out of Hours Services.
Providing the right response & support for this population will minimise harm resulting from a long lie on the floor following a fall, enable recovery of wellbeing and independence post-fall, & reduce the risk of further harm from falls. In addition, we believe the right response and support model will provide a positive return on investment for health and social care services. FIRST aims to provide direction and support for service improvement in this area.
