Annual Conference and Exhibition: postponement – Social Work Scotland
19 March 2020
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone our annual conference and exhibition, which was due to go ahead on 17 and 18 June, 2020. We have secured alternative dates of 23 & 24th November 2020 with the Crieff Hydro, so subject to further developments, we will continue planning for this date.
This is a key event in the social work calendar in Scotland, and we’re looking for your contributions to the programme to help us deliver a conference to inspire and equip social work professionals for the challenges ahead.
This year we want to explore the theme of leadership in social work. In an increasingly complicated structural and service delivery landscape, retaining professional identity as a social worker can be a challenge, having to balance professional ethics and values with corporate demands and political sensitivities.
We’re seeking contributions for workshops that talk directly to this theme, providing our audience with insight, or challenging their thinking. We’d welcome applications from all areas of social work (justice, children and families, adult services, etc.) and encourage submissions that explore critical leadership challenges, such as managing transitions, or addressing poverty.
Deadline for submissions is Friday 21 February 2020 – for more information and how to apply please click here.
