Transforming Local Systems Pathfinder Projects
On Monday 17 June 2019 over 65 attendees came to the COSLA HQ in Edinburgh for the Scottish Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Transforming Local Systems Pathfinders Launch event, Chaired by Christine McLaughlin, Chief Finance Officer NHS Scotland and Director of Health Finance, Corporate Governance and Value, Scottish Government.
Webinar – Transforming Local Systems Pathfinders – 24th June 2019
Following the Launch event on 17 June in Edinburgh, Margaret Whoriskey, Head of Technology Enabled Care and Digital Healthcare Innovation and Catriona Macaulay, Chief Design Officer, Scottish Government, two of the finalists in this year’s Digital Leader category for DL100, were joined by Erik Sutherland,Senior Manager – Planning & Performance, East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, to deliver a webinar which was recorded and will be accessible on-demand for all those interested in this approach to listen to and consider.
30 participants joined the webinar on the day. The approach which the Pathfinders work is using, specifically, the co-design of services using the Scottish Approach to Service Design and the partnership working model have resulted in a high level of interest from those interested in cross-sectoral working and service improvement. The presenters introduced the Technology Enabled Care Pathfinders project, the background and the areas which the 4 Pathfinder projects are going to be working with service users. Going on to give an overview of the Scottish Approach to Service Design and why it is so relevant in this context. The final presenter Erik Sutherland, Senior Manager – Planning & Performance, East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, then gave an insight into the work done so far and plans underway for East Ayrshire as a TEC Pathfinder site. In the final part of the webinar a number of questions were put to the speakers. This innovative approach and the ways of thinking about service development, starting with the problem, not the solution and involving the service user in the design of services are something all who joined are keen to follow as it develops.
