Near Me

The Scottish Government Near Me programme aims to provide the people of Scotland the choice to attend health, care and other appointments via video call where appropriate. 

To make or receive a Near Me call, you will need a device such as a desktop or laptop PC, tablet or smartphone.  There is no software to download, all you need is an up to date web browser. Such as: Google Chrome, Apple Safari or Microsoft Edge v86+

Dawn has worked in the NHS for nearly 13 years, working in both territorial and national boards. She joined NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) in 2015 as an IT Project Manager and has worked on a range of IT projects prior to supporting the Near Me Programme.

Dawn has been working on the Near Me Programme since 2016 and in her current role is Near Me Project Manager for the Social Services use of Near Me.

Graduating as a Physiotherapist way back in 1988, Rosie has held many Physiotherapy roles across Paediatrics, Secondary & Community Care. Since 2012 developed a passion for Quality Improvement through her role as Falls Lead in Aberdeen HSCP and subsequently graduated from the Scottish Quality & Safety Fellowship (cohort 8). Rosie has led on Local & National Falls related improvement projects and was latterly AHP Improvement Advisor in Aberdeen HSCP & NHS Grampian.

Hailing from Australia, Rachel is a programme manager at NHS National Services Scotland. Since arriving in Scotland in August 2019, Rachel has supported the implementation and scaling-up of Near Me across health, care and public services, specifically focussed on primary care, urgent care, local councils and social security. Rachel is also involved in the Digital Inclusion Programme and the Digital Front Door Programme.

Marc is an Occupational Therapist by training and an AHP Practice Education Lead. Previously, Marc used Near Me clinically to provide services to children & families in Shetland. As the COVID 19 pandemic took hold last year he supported staff and patients in their use of Near Me to facilitate the continuity of services in a remote island community and across Scotland.
