Who is the Urogynaecology Service for?
This service has been clinically designed and developed in support of Urogynaecology patients, specifically aimed for patients experiencing pelvic floor problems such as urinary or faecal incontinence, problems relating to an overactive bladder, painful bladder syndrome, pelvic organ prolapse (bladder, vagina, and uterus), and recurrent urinary tract disorders.
How will it work?
Patients will be assessed through an initial questionnaire, determining their care level, and given the chance to complete a quality-of-life questionnaire upon referral. The questionnaires aid in guiding patients to the appropriate level of care, which can be self-managed through web links or escalated to a Urogynaecology specialist if necessary. Clinical staff will use patient answers to make care decisions and facilitate shared discussions at appointments throughout the patient's service journey. A PDF report will be generated after the patient completes their service, containing responses to each task, which can be viewed and downloaded on the Inhealthcare platform. This will be automatically shared with SCI store.
Objectives & Outcomes
· More efficient and effective triaging of new patients: By obtaining additional information to the referral, healthcare professionals can have more targeted and meaningful appointments with patients, by focussing on the areas highlighted in their completed questionnaires.
· Reduced waiting times for patients with Urogynaecological issues: By improving the triaging of patients, healthcare professionals can determine in a safe and routine way the type of appointment that a patient should receive.
