TEC Telecare works in partnership with the Local Government Digital Office and TEC in Housing, and engages with telecare service providers, citizens and other key stakeholders to provide leadership and support to drive continuous improvement, transformation and innovation in telecare deployment and service delivery.

ResponseĀ is a key component of a telecare service; theĀ responseĀ provided can determine the outcome for the telecare customer and the impact on health and care services.Ā Ā Some of you will remember a TEC telecareĀ responseĀ workshop in 2018, at which participants agreed it would be helpful to have guidance on developing a business case for a localĀ responseĀ service.Ā 

Building Your Case for a Local TelecareĀ ResponseĀ ServiceĀ aims to support telecare service managers to make the case for introducing or improving theirĀ response.Ā

I joined the TEC Telecare Team in the summer of 2021 and provide support to multiple projects within Telecare. Before this position I found myself working for Scottish Television, and even as a Chef! Outside of work, I play golf and follow American Football.

David has a proven track record of nearly 30 years professional experience of delivering, leading and managing across a wide range of housing, third sector and health and social care settings. During this time, he has focused on continually developing skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience to assist him to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to improve the lives of citizens in their own homes.

Rikke leads on TECā€™s social care and care homes programmes.Ā  She was formerly the Director of Iriss, a social care support organisation based in Glasgow.Ā  She led the organisationā€™s strategic development and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across the Scottish health and social services sectors.Ā  Rikke has extensive experience of systems analysis, change management, and scaling new initiatives from pilot stage to full system implementation.Ā  She has expertise in using data for social good through visualisation, analysis and shared problem resolution.

Enjoying ordinary everyday life, getting out and about, feeling independent and safe and secure is important to every citizen.

Living with dementia can bring its own challenges. For example it is estimated that 40% of people with dementia will experience feeling lost or getting lost. 5% of people with dementia repeatedly feel lost or get lost. However, many of these challenges can be met by using some of the Technology Enabled Care (TEC) products that are available today.Ā
